Podcast Project
April 4th, 2007:
In (very belated) response to some requests for bilateral petersham podcasts, I am now doing them. Since it’s now exactly one year since the project, each day I am reading aloud the blog entry and comments from the corresponding day last year. So you can listen to em on the train or whatever. Anyway, less strain on the eyes.
This is sort of as part of a process of trying to come to terms with the production of a vast archive of material generated from everyday experience.
It’s all very well to have reflected and written it in the moment, but what to do with it after?? As my friend Lisa said, an un-updated blog is like an abandoned house. I’m rummaging around in it, dusting off the old photos. It’s a bit spooky.
Here’s the plan:
I read aloud each day’s blog entry from the corresponding date last year. That way, I relive/re-create/re-enact my own activities from exactly 12 months ago.
Each day, if I feel like I need to, I add some comments (in audio or text). These might update something that arose in the blog entry from last year, or might be something that happened to me today, or some analysis or reflection.
There you go. The first podcast is here. From there, you should be able to navigate them all, or check out the category podcast.
