Welcome to Bilateral Petersham

assembling books at publicity exhibition at artspace

This is the home of Lucas Ihlein’s artist-in-residence project in Petersham, a small suburb in inner-western Sydney.

Latest news:

October 2007

Publicity, the exhibition curated by Reuben Keehan which recently showed at Sydney’s Artspace, is touring to Adelaide’s CACSA. The exhibition dates are 26 October - 9 December 2007. You will be able to experience a re-formatted version of the Bilateral Petersham shelf, and assemble a copy of the “blook” for yourself, at CACSA during the show.

I’ve put some photos of the bench being constructed in Adelaide (via remote control, as I am in Montreal!) on my flickr site. They are here.

If you’re not in Adelaide, but would like a mail-order copy of the book, do get in touch (email lucas[at]thesham.info) and I’ll arrange to compile one and send it to you.

Podcasting: I’ve been reading aloud the stories that feature in Bilateral Petersham from one year ago. You can read more about the podcasting project here, and listen to the podcasts which are peppered throughout the latest blog entries.

If you’ve picked up a copy of Bilateral Petersham from Artspace, and are delving into it now, I’d love to hear from you about what your reading experience is like. Check here for my questions for you!
